E eis que fiz uma entrevista esses dias por telefone para um futuro acampamento. E me ligaram. A entrevista seria em inglês. Estava preparado para as perguntas mais óbvias do tipo "How old are you?" ou ainda "What do you like to do in your free time?". Things like that.

E me ocorre mais ou menos o seguinte diálogo:

- Hello Mr. Willian. I'm Vanda and work for *** organization of the camp. I'm going to ask you a few questions about life and bussiness. Are you ready?

Slow down. Take it easy. Para uma primeira pergunta, não seria mais conveniente algo do tipo “Qual seu nome?”. Haha. Dei risada de mim mesmo. Havia até preparado algumas frases de efeito no translator caso me faltasse algo naquele instante. E turns out que eu disse algo mais ou menos assim:
- I’d change anything that I see it’s wrong. Anything. I’d stop crime, feed the homeless and even take care of needy children who are…
- Ok Mr. Willian. That’s enough.

Second question. It happens to be your chance to unmake what you’ve done before. Mr. Willian, what do you think that it’s the best solution for a child grow up in society nowadays?
- Would you give me one second? I need to think first.

E então? Se malemá eu sei a resposta em português, o que dirá inventar algo na hora para dizer em outra língua que não a sua?
E foi assim que se sucedeu:
- Well, I personally believe that this child should avoid all kind of violence and television broadcast Tv shows which are not so good for him or her.

E depois eu parei e pensei, e vi que estava virando uma grande bola de neve. Felizmente o teste era pra ver o nível de aptidão, conversação, fluência, uso de tempos verbais e léxico. Me deiem tudo. Pelo menos é o que eu acho.
